I've just been out in the garden with the dogs while they've been play fighting and my god they sound like they sound vicious (sp?)! I know they aren't hurting each other, they both stop for a rest and then go again! Anybody elses dogs like this? I've only ever had 1 dog before and she never involved herself playfights (too busy herding us and chasing sticks).

Yeah mine do it all the time with each other and other dogs. They sound so savage don't they! Sometimes I can't stand the row and yell at them but it's never spilt over into a real punch up at home.

Yep, my two are at it all the time, here are some vids (posted before

They do sound like they are tearing lumps off each other but it is all good fun, healthy and provides exercise...if one of them ever goes to far all I have to do is put on my grumpy voice or slap a lead off my welly boot and they soon stop

Mine are shepherds too, and they never stop! (Three and a half, and two and a half) Very noisy and they sound as if they are trying to rip each others throats out.

Even at night I can hear them 'snarling' and throwing each other around their bedroom. They run miles (they especially love playing hide and seek and chasing each other around whatever they can find) I never have to actually walk them for exercise.

Leah and Poppy have always loved playfighting, and they do sound savage - until you hear them ACTUALLY fighting, and that is a completely different noise! We sometimes have to shut them out of the living room because they're playing so loudly that we can't hear the telly.

Now they're both old ladies, though, they tend to only playfight very briefly and then it will suddenly turn serious as one of them gets fed up. Given the size difference, you'd think Poppy would back down, but she never does!
