Well I call it an away show, we stabled and stayed locally, but we were infact the only people to do so!
Pre-show we got to play bridle fitting- as one non horsey friend pointed out he does have a very small head and a very big body Native pony bridles to the rescue and everything was in proportion:
Then haircut time!
And finally time to go- wearing all of our christmas presents- all at once!
Arrived in the wind and the rain and had full choice of all the stables! Managed to find one where he could see other horses from but I doubt he would have minded! 10 rolls one after the other and he was munching away ignoring the others calling at him!
Off we went to a very nice local B+B and had a lovely posh dinner Back early for first class (class 2 with class 1 at 8.45) and left the family in bed! Groomed him, mucked him out, put him back in the stable while I did water bucket and what did he do.... roll! I'm glad he's not a grey but he is still pretty pale! Hopeless. Perfectly mannered for me to get ready alone and family caught up with me as I was hacking back over the the centre (didn't want to get my boots dirty!)
Surverying the sights!
First class was novice large breeds in the 'main' indoor ring and he was a pro for a win!
Followed by the Novice M+M championship- reserve champion!
The a long wait for either our workers class (M+M training class or our open flat class (amateur RI qualifier) and sadly they clashed. It was the RI class we were really there for so missed the workers
He was foot perfect again coping with a busy class where I think were were quite possibly the shortest. We weren't pulled in top 6 and although they had been shaking the lines up didn't pull up (only place to 6th) but he gave a lovely show for a novice in an open class and was a total dude. We have two RI classes at P(UK) the end of March so we shall see!
Love this boy! BSPS show locally on Sunday, then hopefully soon our carriage will be ready! TSR clinic mid feb the p(UK) end of feb with top groom Ester coming for that one!
