Hi, Doodle came in lame last night
.
First thought was that as the field is so hard and rutted it had flared her arthritis, so wasn't too concerned untill I got her to her stable.
She seemed extremely lame even once I'd got her onto the flat and as soon as I picked her hoof up I found the problem, she had a nail impailed into her frog
. Emergency vet out and she removed the nail and Doodle seemed sound straight away, so it's looking almost hopeful that she hasn't damaged the tendon but they are coming out this morning to x-ray and see the extent of the damage
.
So please can I have some vibes that it has miraculously missed the tendon and any other important structures and there is no infection setting in! Pointless thread really but I'm panicking slightly, she is my best friend.
