Did she have "really dodgeee shoeing" when you tried her out before you agreed to have her on loan?

Are you saying that she has an abcess in her foot caused by a nail? ie did she pull the shoe and it screwed round?

This could happen to any horse to be honest, and I think when you take a horse on loan it (and associated costs) is purely your responsibility. Its always a good idea to keep on good terms with the owner of your horse if you want to keep her.

If you think she is lame at the back - was she lame when you tried her?

a bit of a hard one.

Surely her feet can't have been good when you went to see her? So you could say you accepted her in that condition.... If when you got her home her feet were as bad as you say, because you were in charge of her care, you could have got a farrier out immediately....

Is it reacting well to treatment? I'd have got the vet out to check it. Maybe if you call the owner and voice your feelings, maybe they'll offer to pay. Is she on a trial?

well, when we tried her, she sed, as u can see she needs shoeing and the farrier is coming out next week, so i rode her a few times in the week, and when she came she sed, and the farrier came out and shod her, she looks nice now, and i was abit shocked but i didnt want to say anything, as i didnt want to affend her... - and no its not an absess, - well it isnt yet anyway!
- the farrier has done a really bad job infact, and im wondering weather to ask the owner for his number and ask him to come back out and do it proper to his expence, tricky...
