Please could I have a hug and some healing vibes?

The hug is for me, but please make it one of those real squeezy types that someone like your Gran administers as I am in need of that!

And the healing vibes are for Her Graciousness, aka Disgrace right now!

Thanks Pasha... there is a little post in Veterinary, but I am getting myself in a real state because we were supposed to be attending the Inter Regionals this weekend and everytime I think about it I can't stop my bottom lip wobbling

I know it is a silly thing to get worked up about, but it is the first real achievement Grace and I have had since she qualified for the Petplan Finals and couldn't attend due to PSD in the November...

Is it the snot one? Have you had results back yet or not going due to snot, coughing etc?

Sorry just about to skip off from work so haven't had time to read properly....

If I were you (this works for me), have a good old cry all to yourself, hot bath with a BIG glass of VINO then get the OH to give you a massive hug and plan something nice to do that day instead.... hmm like shopping for new horsey gear! Always works for me - I have given up booking things in.... was going to book in a DTM workshop with the new boy but Physio put a stop to that last night - still not allowed to canter! Typical!

Thanks again Pasha... no, not got the results back yet. They are due tomorrow afternoon I think, so still hanging on to that little glimmer of hope that it will be nothing infectious and just a common cold or an allergy to the change in bedding (but I think that is a bit of a long shot)!

I rode her this morning and she just went so bloody well, it is typical isn't it!

What is EVEN worse is that I was invited to go away with my two best friends to her place in Tenerife from Wed til Mon but couldn't go because of the Inters

Because we are supposed to be stabling there for two nights, unless I am 100% sure that whatever has caused her to have the discharge in the first place is not contagious I will not be going... I don't think it would be a 'responsible' thing to do

She is still having little bits of discharge which is now a whiteish clearish consistency. It is difficult because after I rode there was quite a bit of white, but I know this is normal for her and something that happens everytime I ride her. But, a little bit came later after she had cooled down which I don't think is normal.

It is not really coming down her nose, but when I lift her nose flaps up (I am sure they have a name...) I can see some white residue around the hairs on the flaps. And this morning her nose was a little crusty around the nostril area, but again, no real signs of snot coming out.

ETS: If I were competing at a normal competition this weekend, I would be planning on taking her as she is. The main worry is because we are stabling there...

Oh dear, I was going to wish you well for Inters, but saw this first - hope you get to go!

I prescribe a BIG glass of wine and a massive hug from me!

Did you get my PM?

xx

I don't think so

Big glass of wine is already in my hand!!!

Although, just been up to check on her and she literally shoved me out of the way to get to her feed (hmmm... this is not the Grace I know who is picky and fussy about feed) and there is absolutely no trace of snot at all tonight

Will see what tomorrow brings...

Thanks hun... have you come back down to earth after your red rosette last week???

No - still bouncing! Will bore David with every detail in my lesson on Friday!
grin.gif
Do go - as she seems better this evening - and take lots of pics please!

No wonder you're still bouncing

If we do go, of course the camera will be coming out of hibernation! Must put it on my 'must remember list'. I had planned on having most things packed by today, but because I am uncertain whether we will be going I just can't make myself get organised

She is prob just reacting to pollen! Relax, I am sure it will all be fine!

I do sincerely hope so!

I would love it to be something as straightforwards as this which would allow us still to go to the competition. I have never done anything like this before, so even though I was nervous as hell, I was also really looking forwards to it

At least if she is ok, and we do go, this little drama has served a purpose... I have not had chance to get worked up about the competing side of things because I have been so worried about her being poorly!

Becki, I mean this is the nicest of ways bit I think you're overreacting. All horses get snotty from time to time, really it's nothing to worry about.

I always look on the brightside until it is proven beyond every doubt!

I have to admit, I have always admired your positive outlook on like on here

Fancy coming giving me some life coaching

I tend to look at the glass as half empty, then at least I have an excuse to top it up with rose wine

I think it is because of how ill she was in December with what started off as a snotty nose... it was the only time I had dealt with snot and then she suddenly just became really poorly very quickly

On a normal day with a normal competition, I would not think twice about it, but because this is a 'special' competition and we are staying over, it has just made me extra cautious and more stressed (if at all possible

).

At least I have my tablets ready for the weekend if we go thanks to a user on here who recommended them... a Quiet Life, ooo, lovely!

Yes, she always has it on the floor as she tends to wave her feet around at nets and gets them stuck
blush.gif

She did have a haybar up until last weekend when she decided to remove it from the wall
smile.gif
But I am a great believer in feeding low for this very reason... I think if you can't get them out that much, especially through the winter, it is the best way to feed them

Lol!!! I think I might just come and bash you on the head!
