What does denier and g mean when it comes to rugs?! Please can someone explain. Is denier how warm it is or is it how long - lasting it is? What even is it, along with the 'g'.
all answers appreciated, thank you:)

P.S: i think that there might have been an old thread about this but i can't seem to find it so if someone finds it, please can you send me the link. thanks:)

The denier is the toughness of the outer material so the bigger the number the better, the g is the weight of the rug so say 200g would be a medium weight , g stands for grams

Denier is talking about the strength of fabric on the outer of the rug, the higher the denier the less likely it is to rip or tear easily, the g relates to the filling, the higher the g (gram) the warmer the rug i.e 350g or above is heavyweight:)

Denier is strength, g is weight of the filling. Personally I like all my rugs to be at least 1000 denier ripstop (which is a pain in the neck when looking for medium or lightweight rugs as only a few manufacturers seem to offer this... prob more profitable for them for the rugs to need replacing more often!)
