Im going to have a bash at the Dressage at RC level with my cob, now ive looked up what tests I need, Im going for the beginner ones as ive not done a dressage test in about 20 years!! lol
So what tests do i order? I need No4 No7 and No13
Ive looked on the BD site and the numbers above are Preliminary? Does that sound right? Are the above walk trot tests?
Any tips anyone wants to give me? Does anyone else do dressage on a hairy cob? Think we will stand out?

those are Prelims afaik, haven't got book with me. They aren't walk and trot, they contain canter on both reins, probably a 20m circle and a bit of a straight line down the long side! The lower the number, the more simple the test.
I'm sure you won't be the only one on a cob. The great thing about cobs is that they usually have excellent cadence/rhythm. I dressage-wrote for a top judge who placed a cob above most of the warmbloods etc, because it was so rhythmical, engaged, and positively forward (in balance).
good luck!

BD Intro A and B are walk and trot tests. All the Prelim's have canter in them. You can get them off dressage diagrams.

Go the Cobs! Our 13.2hh coloured Trad is just about to start affliated stuff. Watch that mane fly!!

Thank you ive ordered them and will have a look. Im sure we can cope with a canter on each rein, she does do a reasonable ridden show and canters well on both reins so im hoping to reproduce something similar! I dont have a school to use and do all my schooling out hacking but would like to try something new! So ill give it a bash

They have test No4 for the first few shows so at least i can see if we are improving!

Go for it A frend of mine has one and he usally wipes the floor with all the fancy horses, he is the best and a pleasure to watch. You may get some looks first time out but people soon realize just how gifted they are. I even had a go on mine last year and it was great fun.

sis does well with her cob Sunny and competes at Prelim and Novice dressage, quite often beating the posh dressage horses, in fact she has won the winter championship again at Prelim and Novice this year (last year she won the prelim and came 2nd in the Novice)
