I am at wits end of what to try next with loose droppings. He has had it all winter on and off and has been on pink powder or haylage balancer with little effect. Haylage is very good quality and it had improved since going onto this is as yards previous haylage very wet. Had been really good for weeks and then this week has appeared again. There is no grass in field that he in as completely trashed as too many horses on it over winter so no idea what causing it now.
Other than that is very healthy and full of beans.
The yard is using cheap feeds that contain a lot of sugar to cut costs, would this have an effect?
Am moving yards this week onto diy so will be buying own feed so have contacted few feed companies for advice but any advice greatly appreciated.

Has been on pink powder for about 2 months now on the maximum scoops. Has had haylage as long as have known him so about 7 years.

natural probiotic youghurt worked wonders for my old mare- pink powder worked a little but the yoghurt was cheaper and better. just mixed half a tub into a feed per night, worked within a couple of days with mine!

Yes, I'd say the sugary feeds ARE having an effect. You could try using Brewer's Yeast to increase the yeast already in the PP, but I think you need to eliminate those feeds from his diet. Would they be willing to just give Hi-Fi Lite? Even plain Chaff would be better than lots of cereals.

Thanks for those replies. Will be buying own feed when move yards this week so will look at hi fi to cut down on the sugar
