So earlier in the week my 2yo Pony suffered a eye injury, all week the vets said it was looking good, he should be fine. BUT just over a hour ago i received a phone call from my mum... A couple of hours ago his eye ruptured, Causing a lot of pain and basically meant his eye would never function again and will just cause him a lot of pain. Vets have said he will be getting surgery to remove his eye.
I am in bits! My baby horse who i swore to protect from the day i met him.. now he is in pain and about to loose his eye! It is horrible! But as i know its not the end of the world despite how sh***y it feels just now! Now to the point! I have a wee while to prepare for him coming home as it will be a while yet, but i am willing to pretty much do anything and everything i can to make it easier for him! BUT! but sadly we where in the process of relocating them (Lease ended 2 weeks before the accident, as much as land lord is synthetic they need there land back) so it will be in a completely new field, with new surroundings! So does anyone have any tips on how i can make it easier for him, His companion will be there too, (In another half of the field until he fully recovers) but just in general looking for advice on the best possible things i can do for him and make it a more nicer experience if that is possible! Naturally he is always positive, Even the vet said that despite the pain he is still being positive and asking for hugs from all the vets and just generally causing mischief! and id like to keep him that way!!
Thanks in advance
