Hi all

I need some help finding a new yard for my boy. He was attacked 4 weeks ago and I have felt uneasy about keeping him there but now another two horses have been 'tampered' with which has made me 100% certain that I need to move. I am based in Thatcham (nr Newbury) but my lad is tidmarsh way so anywhere between Newbury and Junc.12 of the M4 would be fine.

Things I need:
* Decent security (or just a yard who are bothered if a horse is attacked!!)
* Stable
* Good turnout - pref 24/7 in summer if poss
* School with lights
* Flexible opening hours (in the week I will be there at about 5:30am and cant get back until 6ish)

Wish list:
* XC jumps
* Walker
* Indoor school and outdoor

* Access to off road hacking

I am desperate for some help because this isn't my home turf and so know very few yards

Thank you so much

Is it DIY you're looking for?

I'm at a yard with good security - owners live on site, and we've never ever had a problem with a horse being attacked, big stables with individual tack rooms, all year turnout - can be out 24/7 from around Mayish til Xmas but you can stable if you want to, any hours you want to be there to you.

They have an all weather 60 x 40 menage which drains very quickly, but it has no lights, thats the only thing. Also a huge roundpen for join up/lunging/loose schooling. In the summer its literally 2 minutes of road to Highclere Park where we get discounted passes to ride in over the summer which means no roadwork AND they have an XC course.

Its in Highclere just outside Newbury and £25 per week. Pm me if you want a number or anything

I have a friend in your area who keeps her horse at Checkenden. It's apparently a really nice yard, but I'm not sure about turnout etc.

Hope your horse has recovered from the attack.
