Hi please can you give some advice or know of any exercises to help with the following

I have a 16.2 irish sports horse she is 13yrs old,

I am finding that when we are jumping on right rein she will land and go disunited I have tried various pole and gridwork exercises but she will change mid exercise and come out on wrong leg or she will land then change leg but dis unite.

Also while doing some schooling execises I have noticed she is falling in on same rein and I am finding im having to work harder and harder to keep her on track or circle,

she has had her back, teeth and saddle checked so I am thinking that they can be ruled out,

any advice greatly appreciated Thanks

Well when sj training, it was mentioned that she was just being lazy and when I first had the lessons I used to correct her and come back to trot, so he said that I had been helping her too much - hence why she was used to me sorting her out,

I have just started dressage training with a different instructor and have had noticed that she is falling in and also she can throw her head up in canter transition, and she said she is getting quite a bite rude and strong so to ride her in a double bridle to remind her of her manners. I have not discussed with either instructor as it has only just come to me tonight (as I was thinking what to work on this week) and realised that there is may be link that it is the same rein.

IME, falling in tends to be caused by rider error but the rest sounds more like the horse's problem, perhaps get vet/physio to look at her. Sister's horse improved with acupuncture on neck/poll for a similar problem.

yeah I have to agree with the rider being a more of a major problem :-) and I do have little legs,
so If that issue is me then brill I can get my butt kicked into shape to sort that out,
I just wasnt sure whether it is was all linked together her falling in and dis uniting.

I have another flatwork lesson this week so will ask her opinion then, I just hope she doesnt think i am trying to find an excuse that there is something wrong with the horse, when it is me all along, I am the first to blame myself. x

Hi , daughters pony kept doing this and we had 4 lots of physio with no joy. Tried a new osteopath and she found all the problems . No more dis uniting so always worth getting a second opinion
