**Please help! Horse mane loss**

Hi all,

just a little update. I posted a wee while back about my mares mane. It was very thin at the base. Well, now its getting worse- its actually bare and i can see her bare skin and shes losing her mane further up now too. The skin is quite flaky and scurfy also....it doesnt seem to be itchy as she doesnt really react when i rub it (tried rubbing vaseline on it tonight just to moisturise it a bit) She had this problem in the winter (although not to this extent) and i blamed it on full neck rugs. Now she is out 24/7 and only has a rug (no-neck) on cold nights. Can anyone reccomend me anything? shampoo/supplement? I will try ANYTHING!!

Wash her mane with Nizerol Shampoo - you can buy it from the chemist. It's brillient at getting rid of the scurf. HAnd hot water is best to use.

With neck rugs the best way to stop them rubbing the mane off is to whipe the lining daily to remove the grease that tends to stick on it.
