My horse has managed to shear his shoe in two over the weekend.
I think the shoe has worn a bit thin and he was out yesterday and it just broke in half! It is still in place but I don't want to ride him or turn him out because it is lose and he is liable to pull it off. The shoe is very sharp where it has broken and it could cut him. I can't take the shoe off because he will be very tender on his foot.
He was only shod six weeks ago and is due soon but I am competing at the weekend and can't afford (nor want) to let him stand in the stable.
Does anyone know of any good farrier in the Stratford / Evesham area - unfortuantely I can't get hold of mine.
