:) Okay, I have been told by a friend that I'm a natural jumper but I really don't do well in front of people who ride in my lesson and in front of the instructor. I feel like by now every one expects me to fail when jumping and cantering. I am a confident rider if it's just Danny Boy and I or if I'm with the friend who called me a natural because she supports me. I can canter and gallop around the track when my instructor isn't around. It isn't helped by the fact that Danny doesn't like jumping and he doesn't like cantering in the small arena.
Does any one know what I can do too sort this out? Has any one else experienced this? How did you fix it?
Thank you.

yep have had this - my instructor used to put the fences up because the horse had the ability even though jumping 90cms scared me. I would ask to put the jumps up when he wasn't around.

try picturing your instructor naked :D

I think everyone has felt like this at some point! The only way to get over it is practise! Try riding with like your mum (or someone else that would support you) watching you! Ride infront of as many people as you can, don't think about them! Concentrate on your horse.. sing to yourself if you have to!! Just dont think about the others!

good luck x

oops - posted before id finished.

If u picture them naked then it should help you relax a bit.
the other way is to just get on with it. it wont be a big deal if you make a mistake - that's what lessons are for ;)
