And FYI your husband will never get anywhere near anythng I own give the utter twoddle thats just come down through the keyboard, and the now inherant fear you actually might help him.....

Dogs can and do attack livestock....certainly doesnt make them people biters/killers....just makes them out of control canines with a thrill for chasing and biting livestock! (not that THATS right either!)

Since when would TFC be interested in a difference of opinion? Or maybe he'd be more interested in posters with multiple usernames ;) Fair enough not being used for trolling but to back each other up in arguments?! Made a few of us laugh anyway! :D :D

I think you'll find it was you that took the thread off topic.

Hi All
This thread was opened to tell you all about Lennys plight and his fight for life and many of you have been very supportive and we thank you very much for this.

However its now gone into a slanging match and the last few post are not about Lenny:confused:

Please can I ask that we be civil to one another on here after all this is a horse/hound forum and in here we can make new friends, find advise and get help.

Shouting and been rude NEVER gets you anywhere it just makes everything very negative and we want this thread to be postive in every way.

Communicating means talking and with talking comes understanding and with understanding always comes help and support.

We all have our own views and that is our right but if we cant do this on here then what hope have we in educating the world on animal issues.

So please keep lenny thread positive.

I wish you and your animals/partners a great day.

Jay

Yet again another good cause thread turns into a slanging match - sad times.

Am touched by Lennies story and i will be donating as soon as my cheque clears.

Sorry but in my opinion this is Minxy Morris all over again. I won't be donating and I think it would be prudent of Erin Jay et al to produce an accounts spreadsheet of all donations coming in and where the money is being spent as they are private individuals and not a registered charity.

On a side note I was signed off with a back injury for 6 months last year living on the breadline - would anyone like to donate towards the cumulative £1k vets bill I ended up with?

I do understand why you're asking this, but Jay we don't control our threads on this forum. It's always "lively" and that's why so many people read it! Lenny's story has probably gone off topic less than most through!

I'm not sure it's our role to "educate the world on animal issues" tbh. That would seem a bit presumptous to me.

On the whole your thread has received a positive reaction, despite the very real concerns about private individuals coming on asking for money.

If the thread hadn't got a little heated, it would have disappeared down the forum and out of sight very quickly. The high figure of how many viewings it's had is down to it being kept at the top by the lively debate! None of it is abusive, but if you think it is you are free to report, but be aware it might all be removed.

I don't blame you for using the forum to try to fund-raise for Lenny but I do think some members might be a little offended by being preached at and told how this forum should be used, by a newcomer.

Poor Lenny :(

I'm afraid I'm another who would ordinarily contribute something, but with lack of detail on exactly how this money's being spent and him being a horse that belongs to a yard owner (is this the same lady who was made redundant? why would you take on a horse who needed this amount of ££ spent if you had no income?) - sorry if i have misread. But he belongs to a private owner. My suggestion would be to sign him over to redwings or the blue cross, where he will get specialist care and where people will be confident in donating. Do what is best by the colt to ensure he has a safe and secure future.

I can't see anywhere which says anyone's been made redundant? Or have I missed something? As I understand it, Lenny has been taken on by staff at a horse rehab/therapy centre.

I'm not sure the major charities would have room to take him at present, they all seem to say they're full. He obviously needed urgent intervention when his plight was discovered, and for that reason it seems the staff at the centre took matters into their own hands.

Many thanks for your valuable input Fiona12.

We would like to thank everyone from this forum who have given money to Lenny's cause. In respect to Lenny's account, we are most happy and indeed, very willing to provide transaction details to those who have kindly and benevolently donated. Please contact Marie Edwards via the Horse Rehab site (http://www.horserehab.co.uk/).

Again, my kindest respects and thanks to all who have helped Lenny.

Jay

Will a spreadsheet of costs/donations be made available?

I think the plan is to keep everyone who has donated informed of exactly where their money is going.
It will all be done by the book, and everything accounted for properly.

Also Jay/Erin, could you clarify who actually owns Lenny now please?

Lenny is owned by the YO (Marie Edwards) and the vet is out tomorrow to do his passport forms.

Re the redundancy - 'Jay Jay' was made redundant recently, not the YO. And as said previously, the fundraising is to cover Lenny's vets bills, YO is paying for his keep.

Lucky-Lady - none of the charities have room for him, I can assure you he is receiving very good care and will have a safe & secure future.

Once again, thankyou to anyone who has donated.
If anyone has any questions you can ask here, or on the Facebook page or the YO (Marie's) details are on the web page.
