I am looking for a horse to loan and live on an amazing estate- have a look www.tedsmoreestate.co.uk

Ideally something around 15hh-15.3hh no bigger as im quite small and something that is an easy alrounder- thats all i want!! (not too old as i'll be working it hard)

Someone, must know somwhere im missing to look ive tried everywhere and i just cannot find any- do they exsist??

This forum has been amazing to me so far, come on.. keep it coming!

Because ive not got the sort of limit to buy one (its v. small) as i work on a racing yard i get free livery/vets fees etc so thats why im looking to loan.. id do a loan with a view to buy.
:-)

ah in that case what about an older schoolmater type, its easier to find older horses on loan?

try local tack shops, ask your farrier, they know everyone!

Not too old though as i know some older horses cant handle a big workload and i wouldnt want to make it hard on them.
Tried my local tack shops and my farrier is not use either.. really out of options and im gutted!

What are you looking to do wth the horse?

I think if you are wanting a schoolmaster to show you the ropes, who is young enough to do hard competing, on loan, you may have more chance of finding hens teeth LOL, unless you are prepared to take on something 'quirky?'

yup, horseexchange, horsetoloan, adtrader (freeads), horsemart, horsequest, horsedeals, h&h, equiads, equineadvertiser.. hmmm more im sure!

Sorry, im looking for a horse that is already broken, has done some jumping, xc etc not a school master as such just an general alrounder doesnt need some amazing extended trot or high jump just something that has had a go at everything so its not completely new etc. Ideally around the 10yrs old mark would be good.

Hmm well you have been searching well then!

It may be a case of continuing to look but trying to save at the same time as the right horse amy not come along to loan unfortunately.

Have you considered a share, they are sometimes easier to find?

ooo, no i will try that now! I cant do a share as the horse has to come here and its a private yard- typical eh?!
If anyone knows of anything please let me know, as you can see the place is lovely!

Try the ILPH they're bulging at the seams....you have the right set up techically you'll never own the horse but like all things it is a commitment for life. At our local there are some lovely horses that would do well in a good home, they'll never win a national but together you could both come on

I thought you lived in Cardiff?????

me too! Didn't i read about livery yards wanted there?Maybe getting confused with someone else.

Anyway, tis bloomin hard to find someone willing to loan a good horse like you want, unless you find someone going to UNI and needs a home for their horse.

They are out there, it's a matter of patience. I am forever refreshing the pages to see if any new ones have been put on (all the sites!)

try a wanted ad on new Rider, they are pretty good

I'm confused too - how many horses have you got already!

On 14 April you wrote :

I have a 16.3hh wbx (hes a big lad) previously owned by a young girl and has never put a foot wrong, he comes to me and seems to become very insecure..
He arrived and got attached to a horse that left quite shortly after, then our big field got sectioned off into paddocks to stop fighting as we had 3 together and it didnt work.
Now, a new mare arrives and shes abit of a bully so after trying 4 of them (2Xgeld 2Xmares) together and more fighting we decide to section two mares together as both are ponies and have two separate paddocks next to each other for the geldings.

Everytime one of the mares was removed my boy would go mental (even though there were still two horses remaining out with him) so i moved his paddock further away from the mares and had the other gelding inbewteen.. now its made things better, however now he has become spooky, flightly and almost off the walls? I dont understand, he bucked me off the other day quite nastily because i wouldnt let him walk infront- hes never done this before!
Hes starting to scare me and its having a negative affect on our new relationship (ive had him 5 months)

And you posted this on 14 February.
