I have been invited to The Veuve Cliquot Gold Cup Tournament on Sunday. I am in the VIP area (very jammy I know, you have to love these little bonuses you get out of work dont you

)
Anyway, I am very 'horsey' but have never watched Polo in my life, not even a bit on the telly. I know absolutely nothing about it, nought, nil, nada.

WHAT THE HELL DO I WEAR?????????????

I'm thinking along the Pretty Woman theme here or have I been watching to many movies?

My Mum has been to many a Cartier game in VIP etc, yep smart summer dresses all the way!!!

Pretty woman sorta lines is fairly accurate for being in a VIP area. Definitly no jeans - not even nice ones!!!

But have a amazing time, I am in no way jealous!!!

I would suggest something that covers the knee. If Henley and Ascot are anything to go by, dresses that 'start late and end early' are somewhat frowned upon.

Nope.

2 dogs and a child = no white trousers.lol

I am going to have to try and beg steal and borrow I think, I really dont want to buy something just for one day as I dont really 'do' dresses in every day life. I just need to have an idea of what to borrow.

When I went (to the Chinawhites bit if i recall correctly) there where celebs there in /all sorts/ of inappropriate clothing... Bit more footballers' wives than you might expect!

I went in a long linen dress which was quite comfy but 'dressed up' enough as it had a bold placement print.

Top tip: cheap pair of neon coloured wedges from Barrats added a bit of 'glam' but still allowed some divot stomping. Sinking into grass in heels not cool!

Think the bit with royals is a bit more formal but you def have more flexibility than lots of events if you're in most of the corporate entertainment bits.

Enjoy!

Ah at Cowdray - I will be going too as M is my hometown. I just wear a summer dress every year tbh. Have you got any girl friends you can borrow something off of? Joules have a sale on atm on their pretty summer dresses and new look did have some nice cheap ones on their website.

Gosh, I could manage a trip to Debenhams with those prices. Blimey!

Thanks for the advice everyone, hopefully it will be a lovely day and I just dont want to be under/over dressed.
