this will be to help with my uni work.
does anyone think that more damage is caused to the leg when wearing tendon boots? or have any opinions at all?

Depends what for. For jumping/XC, then no. Tendon boots will protect from knocks. But for long lengths of time, overnight or turnout, they can overheat the leg, cause sweating, rubs and skin infections. My vet advised he doesn't like boots for turnout.
