I'm sat here in tears , I had a car accident yesterday it was 50/50 , I hold a full uk driving licence and I'm full comp on my car ,
Problem is I reciently got married , I put my insurance in married name but my licence is still in maiden name , I have enquired to have paperwork sent through for licence to be changed
But I'm really scared that my insurance may be not valid now
I have my marriage cert , please anyone

I'm no expert but I would have thought you should be fine. Have you notified your insurance company of the accident? Hope you are OK, you must be feeling very shaken up and in need of some tlc. Try not to worry too much, these things happen and I'm sure everything will be ok.

Agree with above. Try not to worry. I'm no expert either but I'm sure that you should be fine: You have your marriage certificate so surely your licence is valid. I don't think insurance companies even ask to see the licence anyway- it's the police who would do that if they'd been involved.

I'm sure people do this all the time when they get married so it won't be anything new to the insurance company or DVLA.

Hope you're OK.

Thanks all , me and my kids are fine it was only little damage to both cars so we just exchanged details and carried on .
Insurance has been notified and claim is in motion but today i only thought about licence

Poor you - I had a near miss the other day - my fault, and I felt like I couldn't think about anything else all day - It was shocking and horrid.

Think your insurance will be fine. As others said they may just ask to see your marriage cert.

Remember cars are just metal and plastic - it's people that matter - glad you are all fine.

Thanks kinnygirl , a little better today ,still have a cry her and there it was a great shock I feel like a right baby , unfortunately we both tried to break ,driver on opposite way just about managed but my car hit grass verge and skidded due to it raining , both of us wasn't going fast just a horrible country road that is very narrow , usually I would of gone a different way but due to road closure due to gas works ,we both had same idear .
But all ok ,but going to be a very expensive insurance year on next renewal
