Hello all,

I am visiting the UK for the first time from the USA. I will be there for one day only in mid-December and I would like to spend it at Cheltenham Races. I will be getting off the plane and heading directly to the racecourse. Would it be acceptable to wear jeans? I also might have a knapsack. If it is not permissable to carry this with me, does anyone know if there is a place to rent a locker at or near the racecourse? Thank you!

Hi and welcome
I can't help with the locker / bag question, but re: the dress code it's practicality not fashion at our National Hunt (i.e. jump racing) meets! Definitely dress warm, jeans are fine, and prepare for wet weather :D

There's plenty of info on the Cheltenham website: http://www.cheltenham.co.uk/

Enjoy!

Hi.
Hope that you enjoy your visit :)
You will be fine to wear jeans, I always do when go racing.
Not 100% sure about the knapsack but my guess is that you should be fine. I'm trying to think back to the times when my parents took us racing when we were younger, sure my mum must have carried a pretty big bag full of snacks etc. Hope you have a nice visit and are not put off by the cold weather :)
