Don't tow very often and have the chance of a new car which will tow 2T. This fine legally (B+E licence and only one horse in trailer - total load 1.6T so well within capacity). Its only 2 wheel drive though. I don't go off road, only to venues with hard standing and within 30 miles so don't need to worry about muddy fields. But have only ever towed with a 4x4 before although think i had it in 2 WD anyway!

Am just panicking with not having the 4x4 option at all. Would it be ok?

Thanks

2WD will be fine. Most 4x4s are in 2wd when on roads.
Go back 20 years and most trailers were towed with normal cars.
Only thing to be aware of is if car is front wheel drive. You may need to be more careful pulling away from standstill when turning as all the load for accelerating and turning is on just one set of wheels. If the car is rear wheel drive then just drive as normal.

Thank you PaddyMonty. I think it may be front wheel drive but i am extremely cautious when towing so would struggle to be more careful so should be fine :)
