my quarter horse who lives out all year round has got some thing all down the backs of her hind legs and heel/pastern that looks a bit like mud fever. I dont think it is mud fever because her field is quite dry and it is a bit more scabby then mud fever normally is and it has only just appeared over the past 2 months so i think its something to do with the sun. She isnt lame but her pasterns are a bit swollen and i would like to treat it. does anyone know what it might be?

Has this happened before? Last summer? If not, what Munchkin said, although personally I'm careful with Hibiscrub, but that's only because my freakishly sensitive mare is very allergic to it :.
