My horse has recently started leaning her bum against a wall in her stable. She had just recently been brought back into exercise. I am wondering if this is anything I should be terribly worried about. I have googled it and it just completely freaked me out! I have ran my hands all over her with pressure and she doesn't seem to have any obvious pain. Had anyone experienced this? Please help. She is my first horse and I'm freaking out. Thanks so much xxx

is she moulting her winter coat? its been pretty warm weather and she may just be a bit itchy.

does she do it straight after work? it may be cos shes warm after work, so all the skin pores are open which means the hair will be lost easier. mine roles straight after work.....

Thanks for your reply. She doesn't seem to be scratching or anything and isn't moulting. She has been wormed and seems completely happy. Could it be her resting sore muscles after working?

One of mine started leaning her chest then her bum on the fence today. Not seen her do it before. It may well be just one of those things :)

So long as you're warming up the horse, working to a time and degree of intensity suited to her fitness and abilities, then cooling down properly, she shouldn't have sore muscles :)
