Please humor me a livery dilema

Right I feel bad about posting this but I'm so not sure what to do right now :(.

I moved out to uni and took my pony with me leaving the perfect yard for us with lovely people that all got on and it was just so right for both of us. I was more upset about leaving the yard than leaving home :o we were both really happy there.

So moved to new yard within hacking distance of uni but has no facilities just a stable and turn out, not a problem at the moment as the pony is on a bit of down time and is only hacking anyway and there is a field we can school in if I need to when he comes back in to proper work and we have had some rain.

I'm not sure I'm happy here is the only thing I get on with a few of the liveries mainly the ones that arnt students but the one in the stable next to me drives me crazy (shes a student to) and is currently avoiding me as I told her she shouldnt leave her horse in untill gone lunch time with no food or water just over a week ago. Now I'm not confrontational at all so it had really wound me up to think that the poor horse had been left with nothing and she thought it was ok, so I said some thing but I wasnt nasty just pointed out why she shouldnt do it again. Now I'm trying to be understanding its her first horse and all but really?:confused: Some of my boys feed has gone missing to, now I'm keeping him and me on a student budget and really would rather not have to feed some one elses horse as well so now I feel the need to label all my stuff and bring home certain things, well leave in the car. I have a few more issues that I dont want to write on here but if anyone wants me to PM them to them so they can help that would be much appreciated dont want to sound like a complete cow on here and just want to know if this is normal for livery yards as I know we were so lucky on our last one.

Now the choice bit another yard that I put my name down on has rung home and said they have a space, its a bit further from college and I cant remember if it has facilities but I think it has a school (had a spy on good old google maps). I think I'm going to ring and see if I can go look round some time or was going to hack that way tomorrow to remind my self which one it was, we visited several. I have payed up to christmas where I am so moving is not an option untill then unfortunatly but do you think I should move or do I need to give it more time where I am?

I cant believe I'm asking this really but I'm not sure if its just because home was so great for us I'm noticing things most people put up with.

Firstly what the other livery is doing is not on, ie stealing your things and generally making you unhappy when you're there, and you having to take precautions to ensure she doesn't take your stuff shouldn't be something you have to do. The other livery, her horse is her problem but I do agree that it's not on the way she is keeping her horse as it needs food and water - maybe speak to the YO about it as she may listen to them as they have more authority?

I would go and look at the other yard and see what you think then if you like it say you're interested but cant move til christmas time and see if things improve where you are, if not and the space is still available I would move to the new yard as it's not worth not enjoying going to the yard because of people like that because having a horse is meant to be fun and if you're somewhere where you're not happy you can't enjoy yourself so if it were me I'd move if the problems carried on :)
 
Thanks plenty of galaxy going to you, glad its not just me getting worked up over it. The thing is the owner has nothing to do with tha yard and it is sort of run by the liveries that have been there longest so no one official to tell her and theres another thing thats been worring me about her horse that again I dont want to write on here :(

Definitely go round to the other yard and refresh your memory. It won't be easy trying to get another place to live up to what to what you had before but then again stealing and a general negative 'aura' around the yard is no good for anyone.

Why have you paid up to Christmas? Was it in the contract? I'd see if you could maybe get your money back if not on a contract.

Ahh I see your problem- would the livery not listen to the older liveries? Feel free to PM me if you want :)
