Please keep your Chip details Udpated!!!

After spending several hours this morning on the phone trying to locate a dogs owner!! soo frustrating!!

One of my collegues at work came in this morning to say she had just seen an english bull terrier running down the main rd, dashing in and out of the traffic she stopped but couldnt catch it, any way within half an hour a member of the public came in with the dog, it was scanned an yes it had a chip!! But when i contacted the chip company they said the owner had contacted them and no longer had this dog, I managed to speak to the old owner and this dog had been rehomed in July by Bully rescue, i eventually tracked down the owner via the rescue people and they were happily reunited with each other!!

So please if you change address or get a new mobile number or you re home a dog (or cat) PLEASE let the chip company know!

too right, a cat hit by a car at the weekend had a chip but the details weren't updated so all that was known was his age and name!! Poor thing.... Thankfully the owners were found with a local notice, it took them a couple of days though and the cat died unfortunately, it would have been nice for the owner to have been contacted immediately, if nothing else to say goodbye... sorry to bring anyone down....
