Here are some pics of my boys this afternoon...as you can see the area above both eyes (that normally sinks in) is now swollen! I have asked my vet and she seems to think that it is ok and it does fill up sometimes and not to worry. So long as no other glands are up then fine...there are no other glands up and he is eating and his normal self in every way..
Does anyone elses horse get like this...just need a bit more reassurance really!

One of mine (a recovering laminitic) gets this from time to time. If the vet thinks there's nothing to worry about, dont worry, just keep your eye on him.

I am sure he is fine but when Glen had cushings he didn't keep his coat as such but he got long whispy hairs through it. He was lamanitic and at the end was drinking gallons and peeing loads. If you are worried get him tested.

Do the supra-orbitals fill up when he has his head down? When you lift his head do they go away?

If they remain there when his head is up then these swellings are often a symptom of impending laminitis. However when the head is down and grazing......it is perfectly normal!

My old pony has cushings and shes as fit as a fiddle. She has a pot belly and these swellings above her eyes. Her coat is fantastic really shiny and not at all curly.
