Had to have my homebred 5 year old pts yesterday, she'd been in trouble for about 6 months with stifle problems, took her back to Rossdales yesterday for last reprieve and it didn't work. Rossdales were absolutley brilliant and I said goodbye to her while she was grazing fresh green grass with daisies in the sunshine looking as happy as larry. That's all really, just needed to tell someone without opening my mouth. Thank you.
 
So sorry to hear your sad news, it's so hard when the are so young. Take care of yourself and I hope you will eventually be able to take comfort from the fact that you did the right thing for her.

So sad for you, but I guess a lovely way for her to go among the grass and daisies.
 
Thank you all, I have some lovely pics but no photobucket account and no it skills so can't post anything, but she is the foal under my name. Bless her, she started schooling so well last summer and came second in her one and only show, was destined to be my daughter's next pony, then started resisting upward transitions, I was told to work through it but knew something was wrong and in the end it was. A horrible decision to make. Actually the place where I left her looked remarkably like my impression of the field at Rainbow Bridge! She's at peace there now.
 
Sending you a massive hug and a pat on the back for doing the right thing with your girl. I know its terribly hard right now but soon you will be able to remember the good times and that they are lent to us as a gift and all teach us so much...

What a total sweetheart. The first piccy made me cry, I guess she is skipping like that right now through fields of daisies.
 
I've just got back in...thank you so much Summerleft for your help and to all of you for your kindness....it has made the today so much more bearable. X
 
What a beautiful girl! RIP Beautiful girl and huge hugs to you. Take comfort in knowning you did the right thing by her - how ever hard that was for you. That really is true love.
