His name is Bart, he's a 6yo ex-racer by Anshan.
The photos don't really do him justice, as he wasn't up for posing.
I don't think he looks too bad for a horse who's been out in the field for the last 12months, with no rugs or hard feed.:)
He broke down on both front legs last year, was re-scanned last week, and, whilst the vet thought it would be worth trying to race him again, his owner felt it would be too much of a risk, which is why he's looking for a new career.:)

My plan is to do a few weeks of road work with him, then start flatwork schooling and aim to have him out doing dressage in a couple of months time, and then see how it goes from there. :)

i cant believe my eyes :O is he actually barefoot?! all ex racers iv ever seen have been to wimpy to go barefoot because they think their feet are going to drop off so they refuse to walk over any stony surface without metal protecting them :L

very good find hes gorgeous!

Hes beautiful (in a manly male horse way :p) Good luck, look forward to seeing pics when hes strutting his stuff dressage stylee!

LOL, yes he is barefoot, and I'd like to think he'll stay that way. He has pretty good feet, and seems to be fine, even on our hardcore track to the fields at the moment.:)

Very handsome! My ex racer is bare foot too. He copes fine with the hardcore track and road work! Some TBs do actually have good feet- i too was amazed to find this out but my bank balance is pleased!

handsome ginger tb lovely :D Ive just bought another ginger hes off being backed looks very similiar to your boy good luck :D

I have a ginger boy by Anshan! He looks similar to yours. If he's anything like mine then you've got a good un!

I've known Bart since he was an unbroken 3yo, so I already know he's a good un :D
I'd love to see some photos of yours, if you have any? :)

He's one of the most trainable, happy, laid back horses I've ever met, and he's always found flatwork ridiculously easy, which is why I want to do some dressage with him.:)
He is a bit of a clown sometimes though, he regularly can be seen sitting in the field like a dog, loves playing with the hosepipe, and will untack himself if left unsupervised for more than 3 seconds.

I will try and upload a photo when I get home from my computer. Mine picks things up like a dog! He's chewed through various nosebands. He is so honest and will jump anything even with me riding like a numpty! He makes me laugh everyday. He has a trick of wrapping his head and neck around you like hes giving you a hug to prevent me from pulling his mane. He does have a cheeky side and squeals with excitement when we go for a gallop! I did post on here a while ago to see if anyone had a horse by Anshan but got no response so it's good to hear they are both similar. He's the best horse I've had. X
