The Mid Sussex Area Bridleways Group are looking for suitable photos with a bridleway slant for their 2010 calendar. Have you any?
NO - Its not the Calendar Girls‟ no one will be taking their kit off Phew!
YOUR PHOTOS could raise funds both for the group and a local charity or two.
We need from you high quality photos - Attractive subjects with a bridleway slant
Local charities we chose to benefit might be The Horse Trust, Safe Haven for Donkeys, The Air Ambulance.
The photos need to be of a very good/high quality please. Each month should preferably have a picture representing that month. You may already have one or more that could be used!
Here are some suggestions to get you going put your camera in your riding jacket pocket!
Riders/bridleways and Sussex landmarks like Jack & Jill Windmills, Streat Place. East Chiltington Church, Black Cap, The "V‟.
Scenic and seasonal daffodils/primroses; bluebells, in the snow; autumnal colour.
The family factor - children out on their bikes; with the dog, cat, rabbit and pony too?
Burgess Hill Bike Ride in June and the Green Circle bike ride in August they will use the bridleways / leisure paths.
The cute‟ factor Shetlands and small children out riding perhaps splashing about in the stream on a bridleway.
Artistic pictures of bridleway furniture- old bridges; gates, etc .
A pub folk with horses refreshing themselves outside. (The Jolly Sportsman, East Chiltington or perhaps outside a Harveys Public House (Harveys sponsorship maybe).
On the South Downs with the yellow rape seed in flower as a background, or riding past baling hay or straw.
Pictures of new born lambs bouncing around in the Easter/Spring sunshine.
Good old British weather - An early morning ride across the South Downs Way with the sun rising; Riding out in the pouring rain!
Balcombe Viaduct (as a background) from the BW at Borde Hill or the one behind Ardingly College
Borde Hill - Horse Trials, 30th and 31st May, Sponsored Ride 6th September (new venue at Stone Hall Estate, Balcombe)
Riding amongst the bluebells.
A group of endurance riders in action.
Wivelsden Farm Cross country would they or the Pony Club sponsor a page!
Hacking on Chailey Common or perhaps Ditchling Common with flowering heather/gorse bushes and birch trees.
Chattri War Memorial on the South Downs Way the Sussex Border path (bridleway) passes alongside.
Riding out and walking the dog together or riding to work on horseback!
Having an ice cream on Ditchling Beacon.
Ditchling Beacon Dew Pond with contented grazing cows.
Westmeston Church and the Jubilee Path.
Buying carrots at the village store with group of horses.
A fluorescent moment Be safe Be seen
A bridleway clearance.
Is there a bridleway at Sheffield Park with the lake as a background?
If any of the above keywords catch your imagination please volunteer to take a snap.
Variety and quality of pictures in the calendar will help sell it to a wide audience. Outlets will be local stores, pubs, newsagents, post offices, tack shops, farm shops, feed stores, etc. And as a bonus it will advertise MSABG!
