have had my rented field sprayed by farmer with headland polo which is 24d and mcpa combined.horses were out the way whilst he did it and will stay in tonight.i have sectioned off a part of the field that has not been sprayed and they will not go on the sprayed bit for a minimum of 2 weeks.need reassurance that this will be ok as am terrified of them becoming unwell.i have resisted the chemical route until now but the weeds were taking over.please tell me others do this and its fine before my husband strangles me!!!!!

I had my fields sprayed on Weds for ragwort and nettles. He said keep horses off for 7 days so they can go back on it next Weds. Don't know what chemicals he used. 2 weeks sounds like plenty of time but if you are worried double check with your vet.

at the moment im worried about them being on the non sprayed bit as its next to it although fenced off with a gap to avoid the risk of spray drifting. once its dried can i go in the field i know the farmer had to use face mask presumably this is whilst its wet. bit anxious

spray itself ok after a few days but any weeds will become palatable as they die and horses will eat them a problem if there is any ragwort

Mine are in paddocks next to the sprayed fields. I was there while he sprayed them and there was no drift over that I could see. I'm sure your babies will be fine. People get their fields sprayed every year.

Some of the spray is likely to have drifted but you would need to talk to the manufacturers to asses the risk.
I would not turn them out again on the field until it's rained if possible, even the sectioned off bit. Once there has been a decent rainfall your sectioned off bit will be ok.
In past years my husband has spotted weeds with a knapsack sprayer with them still in those fields with no reaction, but I would enquire to make sure I think for peace of mind.

Hopefully the farmer was fully aware of all the rules and regulations regarding the spraying of herbicides - there shouldn't be any risk of drifting

I knew a pony who got this done to his field. He was put out on the yard so he didnt have to stay in, someone came along and thought he had got out so put him into is field. Now he needs some special cream on his nose eversince, this is like 5/6 years on. But don't worry he didnt get unwell just sore nose. Just wait the recommended time +some if you are worried and all will be fine Im sure
