I am at last going to give stinky rolly poly a bath this week.

However horse shampoos are stupidly expensive and if I can help it don't want to feed into their profits.

So can anyone recommend a human shampoo to make his blackness shine ?

I use Johnson's baby shampoo with a hint of lavender, if it's mild enough for a baby it must be ok for a horse :D and the lavender helps to keep the flies away, also it's nice and cheap :)

I love head and shoulders on ours, I use the sensitive scalp one ('cos I'm soft!) and it brings them up better than any shampoo (horsey or otherwise) that I have tried, and they smell so lovely after too! It rinses out really easily too so you aren't rinsing suds out for hours after!

Years ago my hairdresser told me that the baby shampoos stripped the hair as they were basically mixed to remove all germs as opposed to make your fair feel nice! But providing you wash the soap out properly, you can use pretty much whatever you like!
