Following my thread about minimizing dust and grooming re my asthma, I've decided to buy Mollie a new turnout rug with a neck cover. She loves rolling, but this would avoid me having to brush the dusty dry mud off her quite as much.
Mollie came with a rug, but it's a bit too big for her (I don't think it was hers tbh), far too warm and has no neck cover. She doesn't need the rug for warmth, she's unclipped. At present she's only out for 30 mins or so a day, but I'm hoping to move her to a yard with daytime turnout.
Last year she lived out 24/7 in the Scottish Highlands with either no rug or only a lightweight one, so she's tough.
I don't think I want a "no-fill" rug as I've read they can actually make the horse cold by flattening the coat. Also, if it's got just a bit of warmth that leaves me the option of clipping her which a few of you suggested.
So I need a 5' 6" light/medium rug, with neck cover. As cheap as possible, but not so cheap that it's rubbish!
Any recommendations please?
