I am looking for some new long riding boots for competition wear. Currently have mountain horse high riders (short/wide leg) but they are quite a few year old and not smart enough for competing. Bought some just togs essentials riding boots as look smart and money was tight at time when i bought them. They fit well (wide) but as not leather they have no give and not a lot of grip on soles so dont feel secure enough in them.

Any ideas of smart boots for short legs with larger calves?

I have the Ariat Bromont they were expensive :( I think they were £200 but they are soo comfy :D And they have suede on the inside which i think helps grip. They come in regular and wide calf sizes :D

Recently purchased some English Gaitor Company long boots, around the £170 mark, but worth every penny!! They do come in wide sizes, and the quality is fantastic. Always get comments on how smart they look.

fuller fillies boots are really comfy but i wouldnt buy them from tackanory - i sent mine back recorded delivery and they claimed that they never received them. bye bye £170

I've never had an issue with Tackanory, always given good service.

Surely, if the boots were recorded delivery, the Post Office will know where they are. And if the PO has lost them, then there should be compensation
