i just wanted to hear other people good moments. eg did the horse look especially cute this morning or does he or she always nussle you when they want something

mine always wants a rub when i put her back in the field. i take her in, turn her round, take head coller of and then she wont move till ive rubbed her head, neck and shoulder. bless her.

she also when shes in season bends her neck round and pins me to her shoulder. not in an aggresive way but more like a strong hug. i love it

please can we all share

My great gallumping oaf of a horse, 10.5 inches of bone and all mane and feather did a series of lamb jumps and managed to go round in a complete circle, jumping off all 4 legs and turning in the air.
Needless to say I was not on him at the time :)

I'd not ridden for a few weeks (bad back) and when I did ride I thought I'd have a try at rein back - he hesitated, then walked backwards smartly for 3 strides. I said "Oh who's a clever boy?!" he arched his neck and swished his tail as if to say "Meeee!!"

:D

Lovely thread! My mare is a gorgeous chatty girl and I love that she doesn't chat to everyone! When I am in the field she breaths down my neck when I'm poo picking (I love just being able to turn my head and give her a kiss on the nose while I shovel!), then she follows me round the field just by my elbow while I check the field for rubbish etc. If I am in the school shifting jumps for oh, then each time I come up her end she has a wicker to me too. I love it! She is my chatty girl and it just makes me melt, esp as when I first got her just over a year ago she didn't want anything to do with me - no reaction to voice, treats, tea time, grooming etc. She has really come out of her shell and has an awful lot of character. Just gutted that I can't ride her atm. Boo.

My mare is very loving, shes always nuzzling around for strokes and cuddles :) she always nickers to me when i pass her on the yard whilst i muck out, she dosent do it to anybody else.
Also she follows me around the field and i get the best cuddles when shes lay down, she will put her head in my knee and nuzzle me for cuddles :)
I have a huge soft spot for her as i know she had been badly treated and passed through lots of sales before i found her, shes so gentle bless her shes only 5 :)
Heres the big softy:)

i love the face that Ron makes for his dinner when he's especially hungry and I love that Tom likes to call out to the trailer! he's actually more fussed about the trailer leaving than Ron going in it!

Mine is very chatty and always greets me before she has seen me walk onto the yard. She also knows the sound of the feed room door and will stand ears pricked at anyone who might walk out the door in case they are feeding her. She spends most of the day asleep in her box and snores like a train, but will happily let me go in and sit with, next to or on her while she is down. Love that mare :)

When walking my daughter's gelding to and from the field he always has to have his nose touching the bare skin of my arm. It's so sweet. Think he likes how I smell! He also does the softest, sweetest nickers when he sees me.
But he can also be an extremely grumpy old man and has also nipped me once or twice.
My mare isn't so subtle. She gives a full throated neigh when she sees me. Possibly only food related but she loves to be cuddled. She'll put her head on my shoulder when she wants a cuddle.
Her foal greets us when we arrive and when we leave he neighs as if to say 'Don't go!'
Love them, Hate them, can't live without them!

I love that Bonnie grows to 18 hands (she's 15.2) and looks so alert and pleased to see me when I arrive at the yard. She whickers at me when I am on the yard and not with her. She'll bang her stable door once if she feels I am flirting with other horses on the yard. I love that she follows me around wanting scratches and cuddles, whether its in her box or in the field. That when I am skipping her out she pulls the back of my top up to nuzzle the base of my bare back. That she uses her neck and head to "grab me" for a cuddle, not all the time but is so gentle not to hurt or crush me. I like that she'll take a treat and nibble a carrot to your fingers but won't bite. That I can chop her carrots for her treat ball under her nose and she'll be patient and wait with only the odd gentle nudge to say please, but not forceful with me or try and grab it..

All amazing as whenI first got her she just used to keep herself to herself, there was no "communication". I couldn't even run a brush through her mane and when I tried to groom her belly she'd try to cow kick me.

All I have done is perservere with patience and compassion, if I raise my voice she knows she's done wrong... thankfully that doesn't happen too often, I am not namby pampby, but neither will I resort to bullying tactics... It's paid dividends, my girl is a joy to be around :)

She's a big softie and I love her to bits and cannot imagine life without my big "poobald" mare :D

Sorry, I have gone on, but I do love my cob, she makes me smile :D

I love my pony he is soooo cute - he is spotty with big eyes so he is like a cartoon. He is very pink too. When he is furious he does big nostrils which i find very cute and when in a panic (over something serious like it looks like he is going to be last to get his tea) he does big eyes.

He also walks backwards into anyone standing remotely near. People panic that he is going to kick them as they can just see this big spotty bum heading for them. He just wants his bum scratched and keeps turning round as if to say 'go on scratch it' - we did try to get him out of it as it's a bit naughty as even tho he is only 13.3hh he is a bit of a heifer and could flatten a small child but he just can't help himself.

He is such a good boy I have been on crutches since Feb and I have been able to lead him to the field using him to lean on - he's only just gone 4 last week.

does anybody else feel all squidgy inside reading this lot.

i just been out with her again and she made me laugh as she doesnt want to bie throught her carrot as she knows when she does i move the other half a cm away so she can chew. she just trys to hold onto it all.
