I've been hearing mixed reviews about the clippers I was looking at so I was wondering if you lot could help. I'm looking for mid-budget clippers, to do around 4 trace clips a year. I think I'll have to get battery ones as the electricity at the yard is unpredictable! I'm a bit worried about this as I assume they are heavy and feel different to use?

Can anyone recommend some or warn me off any?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance :)

- Lindsay.

depending what you mean by mid budget - i always recommend lister liberty they have a battery pack, are easy to handle and brilliant to clip with - you may be able to get som second hand, mine were £150, but they re about £300 new

Just bought Heininger Xplorer cordless in black friday sale the handle is slightly bigger than my old Heininger progress clipper. I don't have electricity now so had to replace, not tested yet but good reports.

I've got some lister Liberty clippers. Because you wear the battery pack on a waist belt, the clippers themselves are slim and light. I find they do heat up quite quickly though so I make sure I stop and oil them regularly. The battery easily does a full clip on one charge.

I too have these clipper, have done a coarse blanket and short full clip. Excellent both times, I did roll onto the spare battery with the full clip, but I was VERY slow as it was my first time. I really like them and they aren't too heavy at all, and I was using them for ages!

I bought some Lister Libertys last month and got a free pair of Liberetto trimmers all for £310 from Mole Valley. very pleased with them so far.
