i have the most beautiful cavalier and i am so worried about her. i thought she looked a bit quiet and stiff on her back legs yesturday morning. when i got back from the yard yesturday for some luch i went to get her out of the boot and she was just sat there slumped staring into space with a really blank expression after a bit she tried to stand but her back end kept going.

i carried her inside to the kitchen and offered her water she just stood swaying and made a funny grunt/ chokeing noise then slunk under the table. i tried her with some chicken and she just dropped it out of her mouth.

a hysterical phone call to the emergency vets and we rushed her there there is no sighn of pain and she would sort of snap out of it then go back into a trace. they did blood tests straight away testing for substance, infection and dehydration nothing showed up. so it looks to be neurological =(

i finally got her to eat something a small bowl of custurd and had her in my bed with me last night. so ringing the vet this morning to see what to do next she does seem a little brighter today

I know what you mean Miss U, its like vets seeing a lame GSD and saying hip dysplasia. SM was my first thought I have to admit, but I googled it and the symptoms don't seem typical.

well she has perked up a lot and is eating again still a tiny bit wobbly if been lieing still for a long time. vet thinks she either ingested something toxic which affected her central nervouse system but she is always with me and hadnt noticed her eat anything.

he said they cant rule out a brain tumor or cancer but as she is improving but continue as normal and if it happens again then to take her for scanns and maby a biopsey

fingers crossed she just had a mild siezure and will be alright for a long time yet i adore this little dog she goes everywhere with me
