She can never ever replace my Scooby Bear but today we picked up Asty. She was born on the 1st July 2010. She is a lovely sable bitch. A little shy but very friendly. She had only been in her new home a few weeks and the wife didn't want a GSD and the 5 kids were driving her mad.

She and Honey are making friends although Honey's nose is a bit out of joint. Not been vaccinated so booked in on Monday for jabs, microchip and check-up. It's been a long time since I've had a puppy - is it after the 2nd jab they are safe to go out? How long between first and 2nd jab?

So without further ado....

Yipeeee! So delighted for you, and that Zac seems to have found a new home too.

Honey I am sure will come round...did she have any papers, be interested to know her breeding (cause I am a nosy cow :p)

Wishing you many years of happiness with her x

Hello Asty! :D She's lovely, I'm sure she'll settle quickly and Honey will come round to the idea of having a new mate in the house :)

Off the top of my head it was about a three week gap between Loki's vacs, but I think it depends on the type used.

ETS - Ooops, didn't mean to stomp on your foot there Slinky, sorry :P

Yay you got her! Poor little girl, can't understand why people don't give some thought before getting a pup. CC is going to be unbearable that there's another sable on here.:p Re vaccinations, its usually a week or so after 2nd vacc that they are safe to go out, but best to check with your vet. Look forward to lots of pics of her as she settles in with you.
Like CC would be interested in her breeding, the nosiness is catching.

With both Honey and Asty the owners 'couldn't find their papers'. I'd have been really keen to know Honey's breeding in particular as she is one of the nicest bitches I have seen.

Asty looks so grown up in the pic but in real life she is still very much a puppy with a puppy tail and puppy teeth. It's been 9.5 years since I've had a puppy so memory a bit distant. She looks younger than 4 months to me.

Honey doesn't bark at the front of the house whereas Scooby Bear was an awesome doorbell. Asty has already filled those shoes and already barked at the door.

Aw, there was a bitch very like Honey at a trial last weekend, I'll upload the pics after this weekend, we were referring to her as "frilly knickers" as she had a lot of feathering on her ears and bum :p

This was B at six months for comparison (male, obviously!) and it is very typical for males to be much larger and have more bone than females.

Asty is going to be a big girl as she is so deep chested. Honey stands 27" tall at the shoulder although hasn't filled out yet. Side by side Asty must be at least 23".

Mmm, yep definitely going to have a couple of big girls there, but gorgeous all the same. I have to confess to having had a few slightly larger than standard dogs in my time. My beloved Chaka was built like a brick s***house, yet everybody who saw her wanted a puppy from her, whereas people always thought Saffie, who was 59cm, was a puppy.:p

Husband measured so now going to have to measure again. Scooby was much taller than Honey and weighed over 60kg when he died .... he was mahoosive.

Whaaaaa.......you call that ONE picture an introduction to showing off ya new dog?.....thats is ridiculous and against the forum rules..........could we possibly have ALOT more:mad:

:p

Got me bullying hat on again:rolleyes:
