Pleasure rides

I would like to take my horse on some of those pleasure ride type things I once did with my pony. The ones that are organised along routes and sometimes if you're very lucky you get jumps too. Does anyone know how to find out about these, or know of any within Essex/London area?

Essex bridleways groups organise some. Or you could try your local group of Endurance GB (www.endurancegb.co.uk) - local groups organise pleasure and social rides throughout the year. Also have a look on www.horsedates.co.uk. Enjoy!

Essex Bridleways has one next week at Thorndon. 12 miles inc jumps. I can't go for transport reasons, grrrr!
But it's meant to be great ride, and Thorndon is fabulous hacking from personal experience.

Mind you... there is a HUGE difference between bridleways pleasure rides and Endurance pleasure rides, I found that out yesterday, my word are they hard!!!!! (The endurance ones)

But most endurance ones are over for the season, they start again in about March. Google Endurance GB and find the links to the areas and they will have a fixture list.
