Hi

I've just bought a pallet, have tried two bags, but can't get them to fluff up much.....

Emptied bag into wheelbarrow.

First I put in about 1/3 of a standard bucket of water.
This seemed like too much, pellets stayed wet didn't break up...

So second bag, I put in much less water, drier this time but did't really break down or fluff up...

what am I doing wrong???

i assume these are wood pellets for bedding? (dont know what PLQ is :O)

i would use about half a bucket for a 15kg bag, try to sprinkle it over all the pellets as you pour then leave for at least 10 mins. as you spread them in the bed they will fluff up/break down more. are you trying to establish a bed or top it up?

ah, well if you have been using wood pellets before i gues you know how they SHOULD work! ive never used that make so not sure why they didnt work.... but would just do what i said above (maybe 3 bags if you need to top up by much) and that should work....

i've been using them all winter. I know what you mean, but i've found that they just take a bit longer to fluff up than others ive used.

I've been leaving a bag to soak over night in the feed shed, and that's been great. Otherwise I just add them dry to the wettest bit of bed.
