OH went to the recommended butcher today for raw dog food stuff. The butcher acted like he was asking for cocaine or 'the special stuff' like in League of Gentleman! He was wetting himself and came away empty handed. Apparently I need to go in and try the female touch at the weekend!

That's been my experience too. Think they are so paranoid here because our post-BSE laws about offal are so tight.
The local garage/shop has a butcher's counter and they give me bags of off-cuts but I have to make sure I beat the greyhound men and ferreters to it!!!

The first couple of times my butchers said things like 'don't come to me moaning about vets bills' now they just hand the bones etc over. They have to pay to have it taken away so are usually happy to give it to you either free of for a couple of quid
