It seems Chocx has qualified for the Finals, and so may do one.
Where is West Wilts and what sort of course is it? (he won't be doing very much this season and Stockland Lovell isn't his luckiest course so may try and avoid that one)
CCJ is busy working away and my husband might do a couple of early events on him just for fun, and let her do the Final if we can fit it in, as it seems a shame to not run him.
Or would you just do SL as his bogey fence he fell at isno longer in PN,they've moved it into Novice..

West Wilts is near Devizes/Melksham/Trowbridge, about 40 mins from Swindon I think. The course runs across a few paddocks, and it is very twisty and turny, as they do have to cram the jumps in, not many galloping stretches at all. But the fences are easy and inviting. Nice dressage arenas and warm ups. Showjumping cramped into a fairly small arena,I dont think it is all that flat. Its a nice easy event, that favours the dressage divas.

Boo did West Wilts last year Sue and went clear, it was his 3rd run! I love SL so I would say either event would be fine really, especially as they have moved that bogey fence. I think I would chose SL for one reason, it's closer!

West Wilts is a well organised, functional event. I go there when it fits in and I need a run, and it's always a great event, but isn't a beautiful venue like some.

XC is fair, SJ up to height and the arena is on a bit of a slope. They do their best to run as many horses as possible I think I was number 1000 something last time!!!

West Wilts is a nice course PN and is very well run

SJ is up to height though last year when they ran SJ indoors I am sure we jumped the novice track not PN it was huge.

We had a few really good runs there last season

Isn't that just the PNRF (pre novice regional final)? Then if u qualify u go to the grassroots final?! Check all your results as u might have got two qualifying comps and u could try both!!! There generally dressage comps as most people do double clears.

I will probably go to SLM as have also qualified. Its a tougher XC and will suit my horse better than West Wilts.

The regional finals are quite hotly contested and the top 25% (dont quote me on that though) go through to the final at Aston-Le-Walls in August. The finals are basically a dressage competition and when we went with George there was a distinct lack of occaision

Its a functional course, ground can get hard sometimes but normally a nicely built XC course, SJ is on a bit of a slope

(its my local, about a 10-15min drive from where I keep my horses!)
