Point 2 cylinder

The description looks the same but without measuring and seeing the picture couldnt be 100% sure, dont know if I would risk it incase it caused problems with the jacket

At that price its got to be worth getting one and trying to set it off! My dad said when he bought mine that if I need another cartridge they use the same in some sort of life jacket/ boat (I wasn't really listening) so to get it from a marine shop as it would be cheaper.

If it works let me know please :)

Little hitch is the cost of P&P at £12. P2 is £3. I have emailed the supplier to enquire about such high cost.

I have a auto inflation life jacket but the cylinder is 33g and smaller in size. Different design as it stays inflated when actuated.

Mind you. I think I'll buy 100 and sell them on for £15 incl P&P (£3)

If you are serious be very careful, if someones jacket does not inflate correctly & you have sold them the cylinder you will leave yourself open to a big claim against you, so I would consider carefully unless you have the correct insurances in place.

This company is using a courier for posting hence why they guarantee next day, hence the cost!

Point 2 use first class mail so can be next day or the day after!

IT is free delivery with orders over £150 though! So depending upon how many times you fall off every week could be worth buying that amount to keep yourself going!

The good news is I know of an invention in the pipeline that consists of a valve that allows these cartridges to be refilled. It was designed for air rifles originally but has all sorts of applications. Sadly the primary inventor died a year or so ago so I'm not sure what's happening with the legalities, investors etc, but sooner or later buying new cartridges will be a thing of the past :)

Not if they are sold as:-

"45g of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) 5/8-18 Threaded neck Welded Top. 138.4mm long x 30mm diameter; 166 grams."

Yes and in all honesty I'm not going to use it, will rather fork out for the P2 one.

When we tried to put it on the jacket we really had to force it and it came to a point where we stopped as it either wouldn't come off easily or wreck the thread on the jacket.

I work in a saddlery in NI we stock P2 air jackets and cylinders and sell them over the Internet. However we can no longer ship the canisters by normal post as they are classed as hazardous and could be used by terrorists and so need a special driver to transport them! Bit crazy!! But could explain the postage

Not sure HOW this will work as the Point 2 Cannister is actually pierced to let out the co2 to inflate the jacket itself and you just have an empty cannister with a D shaped hole in the top.

Although an interesting idea about refilling I would imagine that the red tape/legal implications of having a huge can of CO2 stored in my house and me constantly filling up said cannister would bring in the HSE daily!

I would keep BOC gases afloat for the next 10 years though!

Is the thread different?
