Point to Point question...

Ive just bought a new horse (well, am in the process of buying) and Ive just realised that she might qualify to be able to point to point next season - the last time she placed was 2nd in a class 2 chase at Ffos Las last August - so she should be fine to P2P next season shouldnt she? Ive got in my head that its the beginning of June the season before you want to run, and they mustnt have won or placed after that?

Its probably not going to happen, but Im curious now I cant remember!!!

Not sure about winning or placing but pretty sure they have to be out of a trainers yard by the Oct/Nov of the P2P season you want them to run in (do they also have to have qualified by Nov?)?

Thanks Walrus - Ive been looking on there, havent gone to ask on JFF yet, but its more of a query rather than a needing to know for a reason (if you see what I mean) and there are people on there (who know who I am on there) that I dont want knowing im thinking about it...

had a look on the Weatherbys site but couldnt see any confirmation of when they have to have not placed/won after - but I remember it being something like you have described...

I don't know the answer off the top of my head but the answer is def on the point to point website as was looking at the other day. My big ginger lad is off to his point to point home next week for his hunting and training

They have to be out of official training by the last day of October. I think with Graded form that the horse will only be allowed to do Opens.
