I'm considering getting a point2 air jacket for this season !
I've asked around and people said they are great !

A friend had a fall today at a pony club event she was doing the open class, she has a point2 but want wearing it, and she now wishes she did as she's in a bit of pain ATM.

I'll only be doing junior c (Pre-novice) and im a bit iffy about people will think !!

Will I really need one for Pre-novice? And i have views to go 1* next season !

it's saved me in the two nasty falls i've had and they were only at pn.. one was where i fell off backwards and the other a semi rotational. Falls can happen at any level, and your life is indeed your life. I thoroughly recommend, however there are many views on them on here

I've had some very nasty falls in the last year, 2 being semi- rotationals where I dont think the P2 would have gone off untill i'd hit the deck so it would have been no use to me other than scaring the living daylights out of my horse. Another was at keysoe where B somehow got stuck over a fence and I litterally summersolted(sp) over his left shoulder landing flat on my back with him landing mm's away from me.. I think if he'd landed on me it may have been some use if id had one on! Colliding with a Tree runk i got up and go back on to finish the course and some other big ones where I dont believe the P2 would have gone uf until we'd both hit the deck or when it was to late. I was also bronked off my horse came down sitting with my legs crossed so there was no point in having one there My friend also had a full rotational fall at the 'Novice' (3ft) area ODE at the tyres to which she was very lucky to only come away with a broken nose... her parents did rush off to get a P2 though. I prefferably would 'have' liked to have had one but the price is sky high and I do have more important things to spend money on... :o i think it all depends on personal preferance whether you will feel safer with one on or not :)

There are ones advertised in the Robinsons catologue that look a similar type thing but claim that you dont need a bp as well.
Q

I'd be careful of these as the way it comes up past the head will stop the rider tuck and rolling out the wat of danger. The P2 still allows this sort of movement.

If you can wait a little while they have a racesafe and P2 combined BP coming out soon.

I was fortunate that my parents and trainer went halves and bought me one last summer or I wouldn't have been able to afford one. I have already had 2 rotational falls this year, the first was only xc schooling, the second at an event. I had my air jacket on at the event but not xc schooling. The second fall was far worse as my horse rolled over the top of me and apart from some stunning bruises on my shoulder and hip on one side I escaped injury free. I had no back or neck pain after falling with the air jacket, yet the fall before without it I ached for 5 days.

I think anyone who has had a fall while wearing one realises what a difference they make. Expensive-yes! But worth every penny. I don't even want to think about the injuries I'd have had with a huge 17hh warmblood falling ontop of me without my air jacket on
