How many years has it taken me to get this right, I normaly end up getting a knife to the bag, I live on a farm, and have had horses and ponies since I was 5 but the string on bags always causes me a problem, usually by ending up in a knott

Well today I finally did it, I just pulled ten end and it came off a treat YAY FOR ME

Glad to know the flipping things can be beaten

I,m scissor happy when it comes to feed bags. Those bl@@dy strings do my head in and I usually end up with damaged fingers or feed all over the floor from trying to rip them open!!

There is a knack to it!!

You usually have to start them with scissors, but you need to get just a loop on one side of the bag and just one free end on the other, then pull the free end!

Having given away this mystical secret, I will now never be able to open another bag for the rest of my life

Yay! I did it this morning too - I did have to resort to sawing the excess knitted string off with a handy chisel from OH's tool room but when I got it going it went zzzzzzzzziiiiiiippppp

I love it when they do go right - but it doesn't happen very often
