So this is really pointless of a post but really just had a lovely session with my mare today... Weather was pretty glum but wasn't going to confine myself to the confines of the indoor.. This week was a bit manic work wise so have been short of time in the saddle and when i rode my chap yesterday i swear my mare gave me the evil eye as it wasn't her i was focusing on . .

so off we plodded to the wet arena and wow its been such a long time since everything just felt spot on, we did lots of work on sharpening our transitions so lots of halt to trot and walk to canter. sometimes her trot can feel a bit lack luster but today she just went right off my leg, no nagging and no battles.... She seems to go better in the rain than when its dry lol strange horse.. Then said what the heck and we did a couple of oxers, first time with me riding that we had no mahoosive long ones or overjumped then.. So really finished on a high.
something just felt different today, cant really put my finger on it or explain it properly but it just felt like one of the best sessions we have done.....it was like she just wanted to please every step of the way... Was a bit teary at the end...
ive also never seen her ever so focused in the arena on her own, she wasn't distracted by even the cyclists whizzing down the road she caught sight of..

i need more of these days as one of today is better than 10 mediocre sessions!

Yay! It's an amazing feeling when you get one of those sessions! My gelding (and me!) hate schooling but just recently it seems to be coming together and he's really trying. Makes me feel awesome too! :D
