I haven't been on here for a while (on hols), but some of you remember the confidence issues I have been having? Well after 4 weeks of not riding, I was a bit concerned to have my lesson yesterday - but Hugo was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I think he's had quite a bit of work with good riders while I've been away and the new bit has made such a difference. He was so responsive, lovely bends and so light in the mouth - a real pleasure to ride (made me look good ;))

Then today went for a looooooong hack with a friend through open fields. I haven't done that with him before, so we took it real steady and just walked - he was smashing! Didn't even think of bombing off, even when some coloured ponies came to say hello and a pheasant leapt out on us.

Pointless post (and a bit long - sorry!), but I'm just so pleased that we are making progress together. (So to those who thought a green horse plus a green rider were not such a good idea - it can work :D I think that is probably down to the good instructor, though)

I have just made a post about how awful I've been feeling recently and I read this and it made me smile (probably for the first time today!) so most definately not pointless at all.
Glad you are enjoying yourself! :-) xx

Thanks all! Glad I could cheer someone up a little! All I can say is that we wouldn't have got this far without the support of some very good friends at the yard, an excellent instructor and lots of people on here! Still a ways to go, but I am so much more confident that we will get there now. :D

Mrs H that is FANTASTIC news bet you are chuffed with yourself too and so you should be :D

Hope the happiness continues :D: D :D :D

Glad you had a lovely holiday too.... back to reality now then

Ahhh love a happy post, there seems to be lots of grumpy people around at the moment, including myself!

Your post has made me feel tons better, and well done you :) xxx
