Can anyone recommend a good book with photos/diagrams of exercises for polework please, suitable for horse/rider starting out with poles
Thankyou

Also recommend the Claire Lilley book - it's my go to if I want to add some poles into our schooling and lots of options using a small number of poles too.

Thankyou. I've had a look at the reviews and a couple said that it was more exercises for going around poles rather than over them. I was looking more for exercises going over poles so didn't know if anyone could comment on that at all please?

For going over poles I tend to use the Internet so can't recommend a specific book. I have a little diary I use when I'm feeling productive of pole exercises and their objectives, will upload a pic when I get a chance. Equine Tuition are good and Pinterest has great ones if you're prepared to use a bit of common sense with spacing!

If it's a mix of both I think I'll give it a try, presumably going around poles is also beneficial! I'll have a look at the Equine tuition bits too, wouldn't know how to work Pinterest though I'm afraid

Excuse my scrawly handwriting and terrible drawing of poles (i've got better!) but I keep losing pole exercises I've seen on the internet so i have a bullet journal I write them down in so I've got them all in one place. If I was going to be really anal about it I'd either print off the exercise or draw them out and sort by category so I could choose what I wanted to work on and use one of the exercises from there but this will just have to do for now!

Sorry to revive an old thread, I came across it whilst searching for polework ideas. I just wanted to say thanks for the simple but great idea. I like looking for different flatwork exercises online but I always end up forgetting half of them!
