Police horses in the television spotlight

A major new documentary series will give people an exclusive look behind the scenes of Greater Manchester Police Mounted Unit.

The 13-part series will show what it takes to keep officers in the saddle and patrolling the streets of Greater Manchester.

After 18 months of filming, Mounted Branch' will be screened exclusively on Animal Planet channel (Sky 525) from June 10.

Oooh, thanks for that, it looks good though I'll have to be reminded closer to the time otherwise I'll forget......at least a week before so I can put it into the sky+ planner!!

I used to work just down the road from the GMP stables, used to see all the horses hacking past, you could tell which ones were the trainees. They once spent ages right out side my office window getting them to walk past a dustcart. Got no work done that morning.
