I can't believe it, we went out today, me in my new tabard with black underneath, onto a very fast 60mph road.........and cars were actually STOPPING to not have to overtake when other cars were coming towards us, were slowing down to about 30 mph, and were giving us a very wide berth. Hubs was walking the dogs beside us, and he was :eek:

Cannot recommend the thing highly enough, I have always worn a pink or yellow hi vis tabard, and never got this (or any tbh) reaction. £20 well spent, and it has zippy pockets for your phone.

oh brilliant - i have the tabard and the hat strip has just arrived - ive sorte dout my black "outfit " to wear underneath and will try it this weekend on a busy main road i have to cross to get anywhere - ooooooooooo i do hope i get the same reaction!
 
we were saying that when they become mass-used, as I'm sure they will be, will motorists cotton on ?? I think that's a few years away yet, and for me, on a young horse, I feel so much safer. We had a near accident a few months back, and the lorry driver stopped to tell me it was my pink vest that he saw first - so this will make us visible from even further away.
 
A year or two back whilst riding through an area not used to seeing horses, as normal I had all my viz gear on, an older lady came up to me and said in a serious low voice, "nice to see you out and about", I realized later that she thought I was a bobby, not bad being as the ginger sausage is a 14.2 pony :D
 
Good for you and it just goes to show that all this b*llocks about I didn't see you when you have ordinary hi viz on, is rubbish, when they think you may be a police officer suddenly they can see you, amazing isn't it!!

I have thought of this too - but it could also be that if that happens the real mounted police could have problems and im sure then very strict new laws and rules would be put in place for drivers which can only be good!!!
 
I just need the horse to go with it but am now off to order one

I've had mine for a few months now & they do seem to work on our very busy lane outside the yard - i have also had lovely old ladies in the village complain about dog poo on verges & say it is about time we had a police officer in our village!! - i of course tell them i'm not a PO & like yourself have a coloured cob so not the Police norm!! we may start a high speed chase tho lol!!!!

anything that gets people to slow down & their attention even for a short time is worth £20!!
 
I had someone screech to a halt on a country lane the other day (60 mile limit on all country lanes is ludacrous anyway) wearing mine! lol!

They have just released the leg bands in the check design, cannot wait to get them, I also use a noseband cover in yellow which really shows really well.
 
I did have someone slow right down and pass me, as they then realized I wasnt the police the man wound his window down and shouted at me " your not the f$$$g police, you stupid cow". I just smiled and carried on. He slowed down and thats all that mattered.
 
Love mine I even wear it when walking the dogs as people zoom through our village and with young kids and no footpath it scares me rather! They do slow down though :)

Great for riding my youngsters too just wish it had some checks on the front for those who hoon towards you. Drivers passing from rear definately slow down and more cautious :)
 
Just ordered off ebay approx £14 incl delivery so got Large to wear over all the rest of the riding gear...................what am I talking about .....................................

I dont actually have a horse yet...........I keep forgetting that bit!!!! Soon again though............urgh


There are some funny ones on ebay mind you that i was tempted by!!
